OmegaWatt at Live Wire, Chicago - March, 2012

Music has always been an important part of my life. I've played in bands since I was twelve years old. In high school, my band was Giant Midgets. Through college, the band was Lauter Tun. From 2005 - 2012, OmegaWatt. My main style is metal. But these days I can mostly be found playing acoustic at the Stone's Throw open mic in Bowling Green.

I love visiting new places, learning about culture and history, trying new cuisine, and just exploring. One of the perks of being a researcher is that you get to travel to present your work at conferences. I always try to build in some extra days to explore.

Camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, and snowboarding - I take advantage of any chance I get to experience nature. This photo is from a guy's trip to Alaska, which was so amazing! Some of my favorite places to go are the Quetico Park in Canada, the Rocky Mountains, The Ozarks, and the serene waters of the Tippecanoe River in Buffalo, Indiana.

Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family and friends. I'm so fortunate to be able to see them often. And it's always a great time.
